Mr. TUP Taguig Wins Best in Talent

Mr. Ronald Samson, an Architectural Technology student of TUP Taguig bagged the Best in Talent award in the recently concluded Mr. and Ms. TUP Personality 2017 held in TUP Manila on December 14, 2016.

Preluded with an interpretative dance/skit, Samson showcased and wowed the judges with his painting skills. Samson’s subject made no sense at first, but watch how he had everyone in the room clapping and beaming with smiles after.

TUP-FSG Holds 1st General Assembly for 2016-2017

STA. ROSA CITY, LAGUNA – The Technological University of the Philippines – Federation of Student Governments (TUP-FSG) held its 1st General Assembly for Academic Year 2016-2017 on August 25-27, 2016 in Southpick Resort, Sta. Rosa City, Laguna. Attended by University Student Government (USG) officers from TUP Manila, Taguig, Cavite, and Visayas, the 3-day event primarily served as a venue to raise and deliberate House Bills presented by each campus.

Out of the nineteen (19) House Bills, five (5) were adopted by the body into FSG Resolutions:

  1. FSG Resolution No. 7
    A RESOLUTION CALLING TO REGULATE THE IMPOSED AMOUNT FOR CERTIFICATES, ACADEMIC RECORDS, AND SIMILAR DOCUMENTS REQUESTED BY THE STUDENTS
  1. FSG Resolution No. 8
    A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE INCLUSION OF THE GRADE CONSULTATION WEEK IN THE UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC CALENDAR
  1. FSG Resolution No. 9
    A RESOLUTION MANDATING THE UNIVERSITY STUDENT GOVERNMENT (USG) OF EACH CAMPUS TO PROVIDE AN IMPLEMENTATION REPORT TO THE STUDENT REGENT CONCERNING ON THE APPROVED BOARD OF REGENTS (BOR) RESOLUTIONS
  1. FSG Resolution No. 11
    A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE GAWAD LAWIN RECOGNITION
  1. FSG Resolution No. 12
    A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE APPROVAL OF A SYSTEM-WIDE CAMPUS VISITATION OF THE STUDENT REGENT (SR)

The Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) for the awarding of incentives to the Commission on Student Elections (COMSELEC) was also discussed and approved by the TUPFSG.

These resolutions embody the ideal and pursuit of the TUPFSG to serve the students and being their voice for the betterment of the TUP system. Once these resolutions are presented to and approved by the Board of Regents (BOR), TUPFSG looks forward to its immediate effectivity and the cooperation of all students on its full implementation.

COMSELEC Passes New Board Resolution

The Commission on Student Elections (COMSELEC) of the Technological University of the Philippines – Taguig (TUPT) Campus passed a new resolution on June 3, 2016 at the Special Legislative Convention of TUPT University Student Government (USG).

Board Resolution No. 116-005 entitled “A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE PROVISIONAL AMENDMENT OF THE COMMISSION ON STUDENT ELECTIONS (COMSELEC) CODE AND ARTICLE VII OF THE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES – TAGUIG (TUPT) UNIVERSITY STUDENT GOVERNMENT (USG) CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS (CBL)” basically mandated that the House of Representatives of the TUPT USG shall be comprised of only two (2) Governors each from the Mechanical and Allied, Electrical and Allied, Civil and Allied, and Bachelor of Engineering and Allied Department; and Presidents of each accredited organization.
